System to detect microbial contamination in liquids and/or surfaces
Applications
- DIFFERENTIATION OF ENTEROBACTERIA IN URINE
Packaging
Box of 20 units
SIDE 1.- CLED AGAR
Medium in which most of the bacteria causing urinary infections grow, allowing the differentiation of their respective colonies. It has the advantage of preventing the Proteus swarming in the medium surface.
SIDE 2.- MACCONKEY AGAR
Medium employed to selectively identify enterobacteriaceae.
MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTROL
The following results were obtained from type cultures after incubation at a temperature of 35 ± 2 ºC and observed after 18-24 hours.
CLED AGAR
E.aerogenes ATCC 13048 ............... Good growth / Colony colour: Yellow, light blue
Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 ............ Good growth / Colony colour: Yellow
Proteus vulgaris ATCC 13315 ........... Good growth / Colony colour: Blue-blue green (inhibited swarming)
MACONKEY AGAR
E.aerogenes ATCC 13048 .............. Good growth / Colony colour: Pink-red
Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 ........... Good growth (bile ppt) / Colony colour: Pink-red
Proteus vulgaris ATCC 13315 .......... Good growth / Colony colour: Colorless
