The ISO 6222:1999 standard recommends this medium for the count of cultivatable (cultural) microorganisms present in water by means of the pour plate or double layer method. It is applicable to all sorts of water including for human consumption. Bacteria: Incubate at a temperature of 36 ± 2°C for 24 hours. Yeasts and molds: Incubate at a temperature of 22°C during 68 ± 4 hours.
